Cross Country Torture
Late October of 2014, Lauren drove across the country from her home in Utah (with Roxy) to go meet up with Jennifer Cornet at a place they called the murder house. Before this point, Lauren had never seen a photo of Jennifer, nor had she ever seen her via video chat. Though she was warned extensively not to go (on the assumption that something bad would happen to her along the lines of sexual assault) Lauren could not be talked out of it. This led to a situation where my friend Sam would be her emergency contact should anything go wrong.
Lauren was going to be in Chicago (more accurately just outside of Chicago where Jennifer lived) and our location was closer to that city than it was for Lauren to just leave and drive home if there was something seriously wrong. That same weekend I was heading to a convention with Sam in her city. That night, I took sam out for dinner for a birthday gift. During that dinner she was getting text messages non stop from Lauren about how bad it actually was there, visiting jennifer.
It should be noted that this same weekend was the weekend I sent a letter to Jennifer telling her how I felt about her. I was done with her bullshit and I was done pretending to like her. coincidentally this happened to be received around the same time that Lauren came to visit. Lauren was telling Sam about how much the letter had upset Jennifer and how she'd locked herself in the bathroom and was threatening to commit suicide. She was refusing to come out unless Lauren promised to hug her, hold her, and stroke her hair to calm her down. something that Lauren didn't want to do because she didn't like Jennifer like that. lauren said at first it was funny, that jennifer was having such a tantrum over something so stupid. Then it was just awful since there was only one bathroom and there was only one way to get Jennifer out of it.
Lauren was saying that she didn't want to be there anymore and Sam was talking about dropping everything to drive out to Chicago to go get her. Lauren reported that Jennifer refused to address Lauren by her real name or use female pronouns. She treated her as if she were Frederick chilton and not as lauren skaggs. She didn't like this and she didn't want to have a sexual relationship with Jennifer either. I am not sure what happened next, other than suddenly everything was okay and lauren was texting that she did not want sam to come and get her.
In the end, Lauren was only supposed to spend a week in Chicago but it ended up being more like a month. Jennifer used her as her own personal bank account. While Lauren was staying with Jennifer and her partner Hannibal she was their own personal driver as well. Lauren was not allowed to leave the house and be alone. If she wanted to go somewhere, Jennifer and her partner always had to go with her. In the shops they would visit, Jennifer would demand Lauren buy stuff for her and if she didn't get her way she would throw a loud, obvious tantrum like a fiver year old. This continued until Lauren was completely out of money (thousands of dollars reportedly) and Lauren ended up returning home. Once there, she didn't want to talk to anyone for days. The only thing I heard from this was Lauren saying that she did not want to ever go back there again and that Lauren's parents wanted to get the police involved in whatever happened there but Lauren wouldn't let them. There were implications of sexual assault. Despite Lauren's adamant stance that she never wanted anything to do with Jennifer ever again, within a month, Jennifer had love bombed her and brainwashed her back into her good graces and Lauren dropped everything she was doing to move out to Chicago with Jennifer as some sort of full time romantic partner.
